COVID-19 Protocols

The Makutsi Family is finally able to welcome you back again. Our main priority is to provide a safe environment, while still offering the natural Makutsi experience. Your health is our top priority, and our hygiene & COVID-19 protocols ensure the health and safety of all our guests and staff.

We have made sure that our staff have been property trained in all COVID-19 protocols. You may not see their happy smiles under their masks, or share any handshakes, but make no mistake, you will still feel like you are back at your Makutsi Home .

For International Arrivals

The following entry regulations apply for travel to South Africa:

  1. All travelers must fill out a Traveler Health Questionnaire, available to download here 
  2. All travelers aged 5 years or older, entering or transiting, must present one of the following medical certificates:- a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival
    – a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, where the test was taken within 72 hours before departure from the first point of embarkation.
    – a COVID-19 recovery certificate, accompanied by a positive test result and a ‘letter of exemption’ issued by the South African government, which can be applied for here:  porthealth.travel@health.gov.za

     

    In the event of the traveller’s failure to submit a certificate as proof of a negative COVID-19 test, the traveller will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and in the event of a traveller testing positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate him or herself at his or her own cost, for a period of 10 days.

    Outbound travellers from South Africa must comply with the requirements of the country of destination.
