Tribal Village

Between Hoedspruit and Tzaneen lies Sekororo Tribal Area. Starting from the Strijdom tunnel all along the Drakensberg mountain to Trichardtsdal. Sekororo incorporates 14 villages with a population of approximately 106 000 residents. It is a traditional society and codes of behaviour guide them through every stage of life. Our Tribal Country informs guests about the people of this country and their cultures. It involves gravel roads, and the absence of tourist restaurants, curio shops and other facilities that we normally would find in tourist areas. The reward is a world of its own with a variety of people and cultures found nowhere else in this region. Makutsi is very involved helping several schools in the area, and on occasion a visit to one of the schools can be conducted. Picnic style meals are served in a clearing amongst the trees. No planned "events", however, we may be invited to traditional homesteads or join the bidders at a cattle or goat auction along the trail.
